Paypal: Unfortunately, not right now. We are working on a regular e-commerce
shopping cart through QuickBooks and their credit card processor. If you don't like PayPal,
and you personally know us, and you know where we're going to be,
let us know and we'll bring your wanted items with us; you can pay when we meet.
Event Shows:
The short answer: because we got old. Ok, here it is...it's a lot of physical work to set
up at event shows. And we're not guaranteed to have help - which we would have to hire or bribe :-).
Plus, we have to get to the event with a car load of totes carrying
our products. Yes, we know some vendors ship their products to the event show
location but that gets expensive. There was one vendor couple who bought a used
U-haul truck to drag their stuff around to all the event shows - literally -
across the United States. They were in the Northeast one weekend and Las Vegas
the next. When we were setting up at event shows we carefully weigh out the pros and
cons of air travel and shipping our products to location versus car travel and
sometimes trailer rental. We eventually decided it wasn't worth it. But don't give up on us. We
might change our minds some day and sign up to be a vendor at the Southernmost event ;-).
Why not?: What? and be forced to
rule our life from a phone booth? We like things just the way they are :-).
Charity: It's not that we don't want to, but everyone wants us to. And we can't donate to
everyone. We do, however, donate to our local and neighboring club charities and events as they
come first. It doesn't mean we won't donate to yours; we're selective and we
have to be. Just like the businesses you ask to donate, we have to plan ahead
for these things. And just like you have your preferred charities, we have ours.
If we ask to advertise at your event chances are we are planning to
donate something for your raffle and/or silent auction as well as contribute
something to your goodie bag.
Donation Benefits: Yes, and so does advertising in the goodie bag. But we can't donate to everyone.
Just like other businesses we pick and choose what we believe benefit us most.
We are working on a specific request form for organizations to fill out;
donations can then be handled on a first come first serve basis until we are
tapped out for the year on donations.
Discounts: Uh, no. And this actually did happen!
When we do decide to have a sale it will apply to all, not just friends. While we understand Business 101, asking for a discount
does not mean we have to give you one; if you didn't know us you wouldn't be asking
- or would you? We don't ask our friends who run shops for
a discount and we respect the prices they ask for their products.
We can only hope our friends will give us the same respect.
Sales: We are working on a promo section for our regular customers.
Key West banner: It's a joke. Many of our targeted customers live for Key West and an annual event
held there.
Wholesale: Not at this time. We hope to hit the trade show circuit in the
next couple of years at which time we will be open to B2B arrangements.
Catalog: We are working on an online catalog people can download.
Shipping: This is temporary. For now, Paypal forces us to put in a standard (flat) shipping charge. Shipping to Alaska,
Hawaii, APO's, Guam, etc. costs significantly more than shipping to the 48. When we
upgrade this website - some day - we will be able to calculate shipping much
more efficiently and by zip code. Customers will also be able to choose their
shipping preference. When we do make the switch, we will be able to offer shipping
outside the 48 and internationally. However, we will never ship to Nigeria; most
banks - including Paypal - forbid business transactions with Nigeria. We will consider sending those
outside the 48 an invoice with a special shipping rate; just
contact us.
Trade: YES! Absolutely! We do this all the time. Often people bid on Tacky or Texas Tropical
shirts they know will not fit them, just so they can win the silent auction;
then they trade it in for the correct size. All shipping costs involved with the
trade is the responsibility of the buyer/winner. If we are at the event where
you won your item, hunt us down before the event is over, give us the shirt
- along with your contact info - and tell us what you want. Of course, if it's the Tacky Shirt
you won, your replacement will look different as no two are ever made the same.
If we did not attend the same event where you won the shirt, and you want to
exchange it for another size, the shirt you exchange with us must not show any signs of wear,
washing, or cleaning during the interim.
